IDEA’s one-task devices are the essence of our modular technology performing several tasks such as
stirring/mixing, sensor integration, gas/liquid handling, pumping, light control for photo-bioreactors, temperature control. Some devices can be “stand-alone” whereas others need to be integrated into an equipment (at least one Industrial Grade PC, IGPC). Just click on the device and see what task can perform.

Bioreactors & In-vitro Simulators
IDEA’s bioreaction units (bioreactors, fermenters, ...) are modular systems for cultivation purposes for batch, fed-batch and continuous processes. Commercial bioreactors, although in some cases they present a certain degree of modularity, are rather closed and defined solutions in terms of functionalities and characteristics, e.g. as regards the number and type of pumps (0 or a group of 4, all with the same characteristics), number of sensors that can be connected, etc. Our bioreactors are extremely modular, for example, during the quotation stage, the user can configure a system with 2 pumps of size L and 2 pumps of size XL. Moreover, also in terms of multiple reactions, our systems differ from those present in the market. Firstly, both parallel and serial operations are possible with our technology, secondly, in the case of simple reactors (like in the case of our in-vitro simulators) one Control Unit can be used for several reactors offering in this way a cost-effective solution. Of course, for complex reaction systems, each vessel has its own Control Unit and HMI but also a unique bigger HMI to see and control all the parallel reactions is supplied.

That being said the basic configuration of our bioreactors/fermenters consists of the bioreaction vessel with the integrated stirring equipment (mag stirrer, overhead stirrer, air/gas). As said, additional functions (pumps, MFCs, sensors, ...) can be added to develop the specific configuration that the customer needs.
We also offer packages (predefined configurations) like in the case of in-vitro simulators, in order to provide a fast solution for the users.
