The O2 Respirometer is based on the measurement of Dissolved Oxygen (DO). It is dual respirometer performing both: 1) gas static - liquid static (LSS) and 2) gas flowing - liquid static (LFS) respiromety. Specifically developed for the determination of OUR (Oxygen Uptake Rate), the biodegradable COD and COD fractionations in wastewater biological treatments (aerobic organic matter removal and nitrification) this device is also adequate for all aerobic aqueous systems. The O2 respirometer is the tool to study Inhibitions and toxicity prevention, Kinetics and WWTP optimization. 

The LSS test (2-15 h) performs cyclic aeration steps increasing the DO concentration and measuring the following DO decline after stopping the aeration (DO drops due to respiration) and is relevant for COD fractionation (rbCOD, sbCOD), whereas during the LFS test (approx. 1 h) the aeration is continuous and biodegradable COD is better estimated. 

 

Optionally, it is integrated with (1) a pH control system for pH sensible processes or to perform pH-stat respirometry and (2) a gas flow measuring cell for denitrification/anammox/anaerobic processes.

 

A portable simplified version is also avalable: laptop + DO sensor + vessel + air pump + mag stirrer (power supplied by the laptop).

 

Test automation is optionally available.
